The greatest disaster of our life is that it is multipurpose. Man today does and wishes to do a thousand things at the same time. His many and varied interests have destabilized him temperamentally. Today's man is living a computer's life. Passing continually through the mechanical process, he has become part of a machine __ emotionless, feelingless, loveless, and faithless. He is neither grieved by grief nor is pleased by pleasure. The tragedy today is that tragedy has died. Man has no time to wail over catastrophe. In today's life there is neither elegy nor eulogy. Man is living several lives and consequently, is dying several deaths. It is only a multipurpose life which is reduced to a purposeless life. A friend of all is a friend of none. Dissociating with all, he is left unrelated to himself. Only his human form stays, but qualities have all undergone changes. What has happened to man? Perhaps man has died in some accident and what now lives is his ghost.
